The four keywords that drive Kahnawake Brewing Company since the day four strangers crossed paths and started to build a brewery in 2016.
Opening the first microbrewery on a Native Reservation in Canada had its challenges.
How does one obtain a brewing permit when laws and regulations for such thing does not exist?
Matt, Fred, Glen and their brewer Drew, worked side-by-side with the Alcoholic Beverages Control Board and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake and their lawyers to create the laws and regulations for the Beer Manufacturing Permit of Kahnawake. The first permit of its kind was signed off and issued to KBC in January 2018, marking the end of a year-and-a-half process.
After permitting delays, construction delays, and a small legal battle with another brewery, KBC officially opened its doors to the public on Saint-Patrick's Day 2018. Packed with friends, family, believers, and the curious, KBC etched its name in Quebec's rich microbrewery community with its debut line-up of ten beers and selection of delicious pizzas.
KBC continues today with its promise of a unique experience for customers by pushing creativity with a rapid-fire approach of new offerings almost every week, delivering high quality beer with high quality service, and breaking down the barriers by making beer for everyone
